Q1 2007 outlook for interest rates
Mortgage rates fell again in November. There are many who will claim that interest rates are going to rise after the first of the year but that may not be the case. What is driving interest rates?
The anticipated outlook for our economic future and how that impacts inflation is the primary driving force behind interest rate moves. The current outlook is uncertain which makes rates stall.
Our country has had income growth of 4% over the past year which beat inflation for the first time in 3 years. Yet uncertainty still is in the economic future. Barring any surprises, this will be good news for the next few months as mortgage interest rates will continue to stall. Future inflation seems to be a low risk at this time.
