Are you being harassed by creditors?

Do you get calls at work from creditors? It can be embarrassing and a total harassment. Creditors will call every number they have on file multiple times every day unless you do something to stop them. There is a way to get them to stop calling.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act requires that these debt collectors stop calling you when you ask them to stop. This request must be in writing. It does not apply to the original creditors, like credit card companies and mortgage  companies, but usually state laws have similar requirements. The key is to submit this request to the creditor in writing and mail it signature requested, certified mail.

If they persist in calling after you have submitted your request in writing contact your local attorney general to file charges.
