The U.S. Census Bureau released a report on the fastest growing counties in America from 2000 to 2006. Some of these may surprise you. This is strictly a population growth comparison. 3 out of 10 are in Texas.

  2. Harris County, Texas includes Houston
  3. Riverside County, California includes Riverside and Moreno Valley
  4. Los Angeles County, California includes Los Angeles
  5. Clark County, Nevada includes Las Vegas and Henderson
  6. San Bernardino County, California includes San Bernardino, Rancho Cucamonga, Victorville and Hisperia
  7. Tarrant County, Texas includes Forth Worth
  8. Collin County, Texas includes McKinney
  9. Gwinnett County, Georgia includes Atlanta
  10. Will, Illinois includes Chicago

Interesting to see that Los Angeles, CA and Orange County, CA still made the top of the list despite the fact that their percentage improvements were only 5% compred to the 15-25% increases seen in other areas.

I agree. Just goes to show that while LA prices are amoungst the highest in the nation it doesn’t seem to keep them from coming to live here.
